Nalanda Administration Alert: The Nalanda District Administration is fully prepared for the 2026 State Malmas Fair. In view of the massive influx of millions of devotees, extensive arrangements have been made for security, convenience, and law and order. During the inspection, the Nalanda District Magistrate briefed the Deputy Chief Minister on the preparations for the fair, stating that the safety and convenience of the devotees is the administration’s top priority.

The District Magistrate stated that police and magistrates have been deployed throughout the fair complex, including the Brahmakund area in Rajgir. Additional security forces have been deployed at sensitive locations, and CCTV cameras are being continuously monitored from the control room. The administration has made special preparations for traffic management, crowd control, and emergency response.
Free accommodation has been arranged for pilgrims at various accommodation sites. Basic amenities such as sleeping accommodation, sanitation, toilets, and drinking water are being provided. The administration stated that special arrangements have been made for elderly and disabled pilgrims. Disaster Mitras and Vikas Mitras are assisting pilgrims in taking their wheelchairs to Brahmakund and bathing.
In view of the intense heat, fans, coolers, and water sprinklers have been installed in the queues to provide relief to the devotees. Water is being continuously supplied to the devotees standing in the queues to provide relief from the heat and scorching sun. Adequate lighting has also been provided throughout the fair premises.
Administration remains vigilant amidst lakhs of devotees
Devotional songs are continuously broadcast on large LED screens installed throughout the fair premises, creating a spiritual atmosphere for the devotees. Administrative officials say this arrangement is intended to provide a positive and peaceful environment for the devotees.
The administration is also fully vigilant regarding health facilities. Health camps, ambulances, and essential medicines have been made available at various locations during the fair. Medical teams are deployed around the clock to deal with any emergency.
The 2026 State Malmas Fair began on May 17, and millions of devotees from India and abroad are arriving in Rajgir. The administration claims that the devotees are appreciating the arrangements made for the fair. The district administration has clarified that all arrangements will be continuously monitored until the conclusion of the fair.
Several senior administrative and police officials, including the District Magistrate, Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Officer of Rajgir, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, were present during the inspection.
